Last summer I was part of a Delivery Man blogger promotion where 533 of us posted about the movie at the exact same time. It was kind of fun to be involved in a different kind of blog event. I never made it to the theater to actually see the movie so I jumped at the chance to review the Blu-ray.
About Delivery Man
In this heartwarming comedy, underachiever David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn) learns he’s actually an overachiever — he’s fathered 533 children via donations made twenty years earlier! David soon discovers that the shock of his life might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Along the way he discovers not only his true self, but also the father he could become. Also starring Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders — and complete with bonus materials, including behind-the-scenes footage — it’s a feel-good movie that really delivers.

The Mom Maven’s Thoughts
My husband and I watched the Delivery Man [Blu-ray] the other night. We felt the movie, while a bit slow, was also sweet and heartwarming. I thought there would be more comedy than there was since the movie starred Vince Vaughn. I thought it was sweet how they subtly revealed why David Wozniak would donate as many times as he did to a sperm clinic and even though what he did was odd, his motives were pure. I especially enjoyed the bonus feature “Building Family”. I’m sure it took time to cast 142 20-somethings as brothers and sisters! This cast truly had a family feel to it and this bonus feature shows you why.

Okay, I’m super glad to know I’m not the only one who felt that there was a lack of comedy in this movie. I figured I’d be laughing my tail end off the entire time since Vince was staring in it. (After all that’s what he’s known for causing.) I did like the movie, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. If I hadn’t been expecting to get some laughter and a bit of fun going into it, I probably would have given it a bit higher rating.

Crystal,
I agree I think my expectations may have dimmed my response a bit.
