Why didn’t anyone tell me how easy it was to make Orange Chicken at home??? I made this recipe the other night and I am still amazed at how easy it was, and how delicious it was. Hubby was seriously impressed too!
Who knew you could make a flavorful Asian dish like Orange Chicken with 4 ingredients and a crockpot? This time I made frozen chicken fried rice as a side dish. Next time I’m going to double the sauce and make Chinese noodles. Sounds good right?
I sent a picture of our meal to my sons and their wives and I actually got replies from all 4 of them! Aaron-“Nice! I made Orange Chicken in my Instapot last week.” Summer-“I hate traffic.” Jordan-“Nice!” Savannah-“I need that recipe please.”
Ok, I didn’t say they were all perfect responses. I don’t have an Instapot…yet. Do you? Jordan and Savannah got one for a wedding gift. Aaron got his for Christmas. For now, I just cook in my crockpot like I have for years.
Who knew you could make a flavorful Asian dish like Orange Chicken with 4 ingredients and a crockpot?
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 4 cups water
- 3/4 cups orange marmalade
- 3/4 cups Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue Sauce
- 2 TBS soy sauce
Place chicken breasts in crockpot. Cover with water. Place lid on crockpot. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.
Remove chicken from crockpot onto cutting board. Cut into approximately 1″ cubes.
Pour the liquid out of the crockpot.
In a medium bowl, mix together the marmalade, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce until well combined.
Place the chicken back in the crockpot. Pour the sauce over the chicken. Stir well so that the chicken is covered in sauce.
Replace lid on crockpot. Cook on high for 30 minutes.
Serve with rice or noodles.
This recipe is easily doubled, just add more water when cooking the chicken.
