I suffer from year round allergies. Living in Florida where things are blooming all year round makes it difficult to manage at times. It seems every season something different is setting off my allergies and often times I have to change medicines to find what will work with my current symptoms. Some of the things we do around the house to lessen the irritants is use a vacuum with a hepa filter, sweep the floors often, use an air purifier and use allergen reducing air filters. I am excited to be trying some of the Filtrete air filters as we head into the fall allergy season, this should decrease my symptoms.

As a Filtrete blogger I’ll be receiving a few different air filters to use in my home. I am most excited to start using the Allergen Defense filter. This filter lasts up to 3 months and it attracts and traps large allergens like pollen, mold spores and pet dander as well as microscopic particles like smoke and smog; thus cleaning these things out of the air in my home and allowing me to breathe easier. This winter we will change the filter to the Healthy Living 1900 which does a great job at trapping microscopic particles that carry bacteria, molds and other contaminants. We will be using this air filter as part of our effort to keep our family healthy this winter.

Until my allergies got really bad, I never gave the air quality in my home a second thought. I didn’t think about the pollution that is in the air inside my home, who does? In my mind since no one in my home smoked then the air quality was fine. This was not true, there are so many microscopic particles floating around us all the time but since we can’t see them we forget they are there. Upgrading our air filters is one easy way we can keep our family healthier and you can too.

To learn more about Filtrete products visit their website, Facebook page and Twitter account. I’ll be sharing more about my journey to a #healthierhome in the months to come, so make sure you are a subscriber so you don’t miss a thing!

These sound like really helpful filters. I really could use them myself if I had central heating and air. Anything to help cut down the allergy issues is a huge plus.

That’s great you get to be a blogger for them! Two of my girls have allergies to dust and mold and are getting shots for it.
