I’ll be the first to admit, I am not a huge Cirque du Soleil fan, my 20 year old son is. We sat down to watch Cirque Du Soleil – Worlds Away together, and we were mesmerized. The premise of the movie is that Mia visits an old, run-down circus. She is intrigued by and attracted to The Aerialist. As he is performing, high above the crowd, their eyes meet, he is distracted and falls…into another world and she is sucked in with him. The rest of the movie they are searching for each other. Yes, I know that this sounds like a predictable storyline…but this is Cirque du Soleil and that makes this anything but predictable.

Cirque du Soleil:Worlds Away

This “other world” that they have entered takes us through acts from all 7 Cirque shows currently playing in Las Vegas. It is like watching the best of each show from the comfort of your living room for only a fraction of the cost. We thoroughly enjoyed the movie and can’t wait to share it with the rest of the family. The visuals are absolutely stunning. My favorite scenes are the ones from “O”, the aquatic show from The Bellagio while Aaron’s favorites are from “Ka” at the MGM Grand.

Cirque Du Soleil – Worlds Away is rated PG for dramatic images and mild sensuality. Here is a peek behind the scenes of this amazing movie.

As a bonus every package available for purchase includes a 20% discount offer on select Cirque du Soleil LIVE shows in the U.S. and Canada (note participating shows include Amaluna™, Quidam™, TOTEM™, Mystère™, KÀ™, CRISS ANGEL™ Believe™, The Beatles™ LOVE™, Zarkana™ and Zumanity™ and certain restrictions apply). Offer expires December 31, 2013. The 20% discount can amount to significant savings on show tickets, making the packages a tremendous value with suggested retail prices of just $29.99 for the single-disc DVD or $39.99 for the Blu-ray/DVD combo.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% mine. There are affiliate links in this post.

I’ve never watched any Cirque du Soleil before, but I guess that’s just because I never had the opportunity to do so. I might check it out now.

I’ve wondered if Cirque du Soleil could be captured well on film. I guess it can.

I saw Cirque-Du-Soleil at Disney World. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. There is so much talent in one show!
