I’ve been reading the book Emotions: Confront the Lies. Conquer with Truth.by Dr Charles Stanley. I usually don’t tell you about a book until I have finished it but this book is taking me a while to read because it is a deep book that requires reflection and self-examination. These are good things, it just makes reading the book take longer. I have read enough of the book to be able to tell you that you should probably read it too. I’m not saying that in a judgy way at all, we all have emotional baggage and in this book Dr Stanley helps us see it for what it is, helps us to locate the root and accept God’s healing of those emotions.

About Emotions-Confront Lies. Conquer with Truth.
In this powerful and inspiring book, New York Times best-selling author and trusted pastor Charles F. Stanley shares practical guidance and encouragement on a topic that touches every person on earth—emotions.
Our emotions are neither good nor bad, but they are powerful. By revealing God’s original purpose for our feelings and exposing the lies we believe, Dr. Stanley teaches readers how to find the joy and fulfillment the Father created us to have.
Dr Stanley reminds us that our emotions are a gift from God but our fallen emotions, fear, rejection, bitterness, guilt, and despair get in the way and impede our walk with God. As he focuses on each negative emotion, its possible roots and how it impacts us emotionally and spiritually the readers eyes and hearts are opened to the healing God has for us. Healing is a process and it takes time, we cannot heal ourselves, we can only be healed through the power of God as we walk out our healing with Him.
The Mom Maven’s Thoughts
This book is written as if you are sitting across the table from Dr Stanley. If you are familiar with his radio or television ministry you can hear him speaking to you as you read this book. In that sense it is easy to read. as I said before, what makes it difficult to read is the subject matter and the amount of introspection it requires. I do suggest everyone read Emotions: Confront the Lies. Conquer with Truth. it will help you and your family.
Disclosure: I receive a copy of this book for mu Kindle. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% mine.
