Many thanks to Propeller Consulting, LLC for providing this prize for the giveaway. Choice of winners and opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation. I did receive a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post.

I discovered Contemporary Christian Music during the summer of 1980. I was working at a Christian Summer camp and my coworkers were listening to cassettes of this 19 year old girl named, Amy Grant. I was hooked immediately and I have owned most of her albums/cassettes/CDs/downloads over the last 36 years. As a young church vocalist I also owned a lot of Amy Grant accompaniment tracks and I can’t tell you how many times I sang “Father’s Eyes”, “Fat Baby”, “Sing Your Praise to the Lord”, “El Shaddai”, “Thy Word”, and many many more at churches, festivals and events. I have only had the pleasure of seeing Amy live once, in the mid 1990s on a Christmas tour with Michael W. Smith. One of my favorite Christmas albums is Amy Grant’s 1983 A Christmas Album. I am so excited that she has released a new Christmas album, Amy Grant Tennessee Christmas.

New for Christmas 2016 Amy Grant Tennessee Christmas CD

A collection of thirteen new recordings, including the title track, Tennessee Christmas offers a blend of heartfelt originals and Grant’s own spin on popular Yuletide classics, seamlessly weaving together the joy, love, laughter, and even grief this season brings. Recorded in her home studio in Nashville, Grant collaborated with producers Mac McAnally (Jimmy Buffett, Martina McBride), Marshall Altman (Marc Broussard, Frankie Ballard) and Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder*Band) to bring this project to life. Looking forward to the release, Grant shares some insight into her vision behind this project – “I’ve loved traveling the world with my guitar, but my favorite musical memories have happened right here at home around Christmastime with family and friends. I hope we’ve captured some of that magic to share with all of you this holiday season!”

Mom Maven’s Thoughts on Tennessee Christmas

I LOVE this album! It is a mellow, sometimes reverent Christmas album, perfect for relaxing and gazing at the Christmas tree lights with someone you love. Occasionally during the album you hear Amy share beloved Christmas memories, which makes this album even better. I love her rendition of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” with hubby Vince Gill. Also, her daughters Jenny, Corinna, and Sarah sing on “Christmas Don’t be Late” which just adds to the cozy family feel of this project. When you get your copy of the CD, make sure you check out the cover insert, there are adorable family Christmas pictures included!

Tennessee Christmas Surprise

Amy is asking for fans to upload any videos they may have of them surprising loved ones for the holidays to social media using the hashtag #TNChristmasSurprise Those chosen will be part of a compilation video that Amy herself will share on her large social media outlets! How cool is this? If you have a Christmas surprise video, share it now!
