I almost didn’t agree to review this devotional. Why? Time. Reviewing books takes time, a lot of it, because you have to actually read the book. I have a devotional I am currently using in my quiet time so I didn’t want to muddy the waters with something different. It makes sense, but God had other plans. I believe it was on the second request from the PR company that I agreed to review Always Enough, Never Too Much 100 Devotions to Quit Complaining, Stop Hiding & Start Living Wild and Free, and I am glad I did.

Always Enough, Never Too Much 100 Devotions to Quit Complaining, Stop Hiding & Start Living Wild and Free is the book every Christian woman needs to read.

About Always Enough, Never Too Much

We’ve all been there. We know that sneaking, small voice in our heads all too well—you’re too loud. Too quiet. Too young. Too old. Too unimportant. Too ugly. Too silly. Too serious. You’re not as successful as she is—look at her perfect family, look at her high-powered job, look at her great hair and size 4 skinny jeans. Why can’t you be more like her—be more in general? Why do you expect so much from everyone? Why can’t you take up less space? Ask for less? Be less? The lies track well-worn paths in our minds and our hearts, wearing us down and making us question our role in God’s kingdom.

Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan, bestselling authors of Wild and Free will help you replace those lies with God’s truth. This devotional flip-book is designed for you, the woman who feels like she can be both too much and not enough—sometimes in the same day. When you banish lies and insecurities and find your identity in Jesus, you can embrace these truths: You are always enough. You are never too much.

Mom Maven’s Thoughts

Always Enough, Never Too Much is real. It’s sometimes in your face and sometimes a gentle hug. I love the flip book concept and here you are getting 2 books in one and we need them both. I don’t know about you but there are plenty of days where I feel like I am not enough; not enough mom, wife, daughter, Christian, church leader…the list goes on and on. There are also days when I feel like I am too much; too loud, too opinionated, too bossy-you get the picture. In one devotional Jess and Hayley minister to us all, both sides of us with equal love, grace, and understanding.

Each devotion title starts with “Even When” or “Even If”. Here are a few examples:

  • Even When You Have No Filter
  • Even When You Carry Heavy Burdens
  • Even If You Have a Ton of Kids
  • Even When You Doubt God’s Goodness
  • Even When You Feel Unqualified
  • Even When You Make Mistakes
  • Even When You Are Worn Out
  • Even When You Have to Say No
  • Even When You Don’t Feel Near to God

I dare you to tell me that at least one of those titles didn’t make you want to have this life-affirming book in your hands right now. I want to buy this book for all the ladies in my tribe. We all need to hear the words in Always Enough, Never Too Much because we are both.

Enter to win one of 5 copies of Always Enough, Never too Much by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan.
