Unless you have had your head in the sand you probably know about the uprising against my beloved Chik-fil-A. I love Chik-fil-A for many reasons:

  • delicious food
  • best fast food milk shakes on the planet
  • courteous staff
  • honor God in their business practices
  • closed on Sundays (even though I always seem to crave Chik-fil-A on Sundays I respect their business practice and wish more businesses would follow suit).

I am saddened and disappointed in many American people who seem to feel tolerance only goes one way, their way. In case you don’t know what is going on basically Chik-fil-A CEO, Dan Cathy, made comments recently in which he affirmed his view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld. As a Bible believing Christian I totally agree with him. There are at least 6 times in the Bible where God’s Word says homosexuality is wrong or that God created marriage to be between a man and a woman. Just because we believe what the Bible, the infallible Word of God says, does not mean we are anti-gay or gay haters. I have friends and relatives who are homosexuals and while I don’t agree with their choice of lifestyle I am still their friend. Unfortunately the GBLT community and their supporters who constantly cry for tolerance don’t tolerate anyone else’s beliefs that contradict their own..funny huh?

So, last week Mike Hukabee declared Wednesday, August 1st to be “Chik-Fil-A Day” and encouraged everyone who supports Chik-fil-A’s Biblical values to eat at the restaurant on that day. Today at work  I received an email from our denomination’s District Superintendent in which he encouraged pastors to take their staff to Chik-Fil-A for lunch, and I read an open letter from the The General Superintendent of the General Council of the Assemblies of God speaks out about the watershed moment that we are in right now in America. If we as Christians don’t know what the Bible says and don’t stand up for God’s Word when it is challenged,,,what kind of a Christian are we? I urge you to RSVP for the event I Support Chik-fil-A and I look forward to seeing you at Chik-fil-A on Wednesday!

We do not have a Chick-fil=A in Venice (yet), we plan to go to Sarasota for lunch, on Wed.

I am torn about this. I agree that people have a right to say what they believe. However, I am not supporting a company which donates money to go against others having the right to do what makes them happy. I like their food, but I will not be going to one tomorrow (especially considering there’s not one within 30 minutes of my house).

Here’s the thing — they have the right to have their beliefs. And I have a right to not go to their place of business because I disagree with their beliefs. The Bible also has human and animal sacrifice and I don’t see that happening anymore.

Sorry, but when a company voices opinions that I don’t agree with I try my best to avoid them.
