It seems the must-have fashion accessory of 2020 is a face mask. Like them or not, they are mandated in some places so if we plan on leaving our homes, we should have at least one with us. I have personally tried a few different mask versions to see what is most comfortable for me, and that answer is easily my Hoo-Rag Seamless Tubular Bandana.

Hoo-Rag website
The Hoo-Rag Seamless Tubular Bandana has been around since 2012, they aren’t just a random company jumping on the Covid mask bandwagon. They have over 250 designs and they also do custom designs for businesses, organizations, and events. They also have both kids and adult sizes. I know keeping a regular face mask on a child is not easy but Hoo-Rags are way cooler than any face mask.
My Half Hoo Headband will be one of the face mask styles I test on my upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. I’ve heard from friends who have already visited other theme parks with mandatory mask rules that this neck gaiter style is the most comfortable for all day wear. Currently Disney’s rules state that face masks have to have loops or ties but I have friends who have work this style to Disney Springs with no problem, so we will see what happens when I visit on the 16th of this month. (Since the original writing of this post Disney has changed their face covering requirements to specifically state no neck gaiters 🙁 ).
Mom Maven’s Thoughts
I’ve worn my pink Hoo-Rag at one of my seasonal jobs, into a restaurant, and just around my house to test for comfort. I find the Hoo-Rag easy to breathe through and comfortable to wear. I have a fat thicker neck than most people so it isn’t super comfortable for me to just wear it around my neck when it isn’t pulled up. When it is pulled up over my nose and mouth it is also comfortable around my neck.
My favorite product is my Half Hoo Headband. It fits great as a face covering but it doesn’t have all the extra fabric around my neck so it is more comfortable up or down.
Ron has been wearing his Hoo-Rag where ever face coverings are required. He has no problem keeping it around his neck when he doesn’t need a mask. They are lightweight and even here in Florida where the feels like temperature has been over 100° F for the past few weeks, the Hoo-Rag hasn’t been a problem.
Hoo-Rags are available on their website. Prices vary by style/material and can be bought individually or in multi-packs from 4 to 1000. Hoo-Rags should be washed in cold water and hung up or lay flat to dry. Hop on over to their website and tell them Mom Maven sent you!
