Cruises are an amazing way to vacation with a multigenerational group. We have done 2 multigenerational cruises with our family and friends and we are getting ready to start planning our next one. Today I want to let you know why your family should consider a multigenerational cruise. Next week I’ll give you some pointers on how to organize your family vacation.
Top 5 Reasons Your Family Should Go On a Multigenerational Cruise
5. Activities
On most land based vacations it is hard to keep everyone from toddler to senior citizen happy and engaged at the same time. On a cruise there are so many activity options including childcare, kids camps, pools, water slides, bingo, trivia games, art auctions, dance lessons, visit the spa, workout and much more. There is always something from everyone to do and of course a nap in your stateroom or by the pool is always an option too.
4. Accommodations
The cruise ships of the 21st Century have many different types of accommodations for families, couples and some even have staterooms for singles. Want an interior stateroom, ocean view stateroom, veranda stateroom, junior suite, or full suite? The choice is yours and each family can get a stateroom that suits their needs and wants.
3. Food
Everyone knows that food is an important feature on any cruise vacation. On a cruise there is food for the pickiest and the most adventurist eater in the group as well as everyone in between. Cruise ships are also increasing their offerings for those who are embracing a Vegan, Vegetarian, or gluten-free lifestyle.
2. Balance
This IS your vacation and you probably don’t want to spend 24/7 with your extended family or friends. Unlike a theme park vacation where everyone schleps around together, a cruise allows you to have as much or as little time to yourself as you would like. This balance makes this vacation enjoyable for everyone. Next week I’ll give you more ideas as to how to ensure that balance even before you get on the ship.
1. Memories
Almost every time we are together as extended family, a memory or 2 of one of our cruises comes up. On a cruise all ages of family members can share experiences, visit new places, and try new things. Those memories and stories are what make us want to take more multigenerational cruises, so we can make more memories.
