On our recent trip to Walt Disney World we were visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios on opening day for the new Sunset Showcase building back behind Rock ‘n Roller Coaster. This new building is currently home to Club Disney, an indoor character dance party! While the rest of the family was riding their favorite coaster, I headed over to check out the party.

Club Disney DJ Booth at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Disney has had a good bit of success over the last several years with their various character dance parties. The music is fun, the character interaction is fun and it is a great way to help kids who have been stuck in strollers or standing in line all day to get their wiggles out. The opening of Club Disney takes the dance party concept and makes it even better. How? Watch the video and see how awesome this place is.

So, now that you have watched the video of what aired live on Periscope, I’m sure you can see what makes Club Disney the best dance party, but just in case, I’ll list it for you:

Top 10 Awesome Things about Club Disney

  1. Air Conditioning
  2. Fun Music
  3. Restrooms
  4. Characters
  5. Dance Floor/Lights/Bubbles/Streamers
  6. Charging Stations
  7. Snack Bar
  8. Interactive Art Walls
  9. Awesome Video Wall
  10. Comfy Seats

You may order these items differently and that is fine, we all have our opinion.

Club Disney Charging Station at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Every time Disney adds charging stations to the park, I take a little pride in that. Back in 2012 I was part of a small group of bloggers that Disney brought in to preview New Fantasyland before it opened. We had the opportunity to meet with Jim Staggs and Meg Crofton to give them feedback! One of our concerns was a lack of outlets or charging stations throughout New Fantasyland and the parks in general. During that meeting we brainstormed ways that charging stations could be added and themed. I was so excited when the first ones were unveiled in the Tangled restroom area of Fantasyland.

Club Disney Video Wall at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I didn’t feature the video wall in my video because while I was recording there was just background video playing. Soon after I finished recording the DJ announced a Disney heroes mash-up and the video played on the overhead screens. The screens are well placed and beautiful. They are integrated well into the room design and into the flow of the show.

I spent over an hour in Club Disney on opening day and I will be back each and every visit to the Studios. There is something for all ages at Club Disney and I hope you’ll pop on back there to check it out on your next visit.
