TobyMac-This is Not a Test Review and Giveaway

I received one or more of the products or services mentioned for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.I have been a TobyMac fan for a long time. My first dcTalk concert was at the Thanksgiving Celebration at Robarts Arena in 1990! Toby and I were both much younger then, as was the Christian Rap/Hip Hop genre of music. While I am no longer Toby’s target demographic, he is still one of my favorite Christian artists.

His new project “This is Not a Test” officially hits store shelves this Friday, 8/7/15 but you can pre-order it on iTunes and receive 4 songs today!

Mom Maven’s Thoughts

There isn’t a bad song on this album! I really had a hard time picking a favorite song so I am going to share a bit about three of my favorites.

• “Til the Day I Die” featuring NF should become the anthem of all Christians. It answers the question, “How long are you going to keep this up?” Being a Christian is something we are, not something we do. Whether our ministry is volunteering in the church nursery, feeding the homeless or being a major Christian recording artist, our answer should be, “Til the Day I Die”.
• “Backseat Driver” featuring Hollyn Tru is a great reminder that God is in control, not us. Our job is to follow and obey, not take the wheel from God. Only He knows the beginning from the end and if we are a backseat driver, we will miss God’s best for us.
• “Move” (Keep Walking) is a song of inspiration for the difficult days. We all walk through tough times and we need to keep walking, one step at a time.
