Happy July 1st! We have a tradition in our family that started when I was a freshman in college…long before we had cell phones. On the first of each month my mom would call me (on the dorm floor phone) and try to say “happy (insert month here) first!” before I could. Well, 33 years later we still play this game and it now spans 3 generations! Yes, we all talk to each other more than once a month, but this is just a way to start each month off with some fun and family connections, no matter where we are. Caller ID and now cell phones have made this game more challenging but we still have fun!
