The end of this world is coming, we know that, we just don’t know when that will be. I do know that we are 2014 years closer to that day coming than we were when Jesus talked about it. Thankfully as Christians we know where we will be when that time comes but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t live purposefully until that time. In each of our lives things happen that make us question ourselves, our lives and our beliefs. I believe these are the moments that test us and draw us closer to God by making the often difficult decision to walk His path instead of the seemingly easier path that the world offers us.

Rumors of Wars-Movie Review

About Rumors of Wars

In the post apocalyptic future, Agent Shaw (Ben Davies, Courageous) works for the only surviving government working to bring order to a world full of decay and violence. Shaw offers little mercy to those that would stand in the way of the government’s edict, that everyone submit to an implanted chip that tracks their movements and purchases. He is certain that those “zealots” that would put their belief in God ahead of the beliefs of society, could lead the world back on the road toward destruction. The zealots need to be eliminated. But his faith was challenged when he found a small book in the rubble near one of the “rebel” encampments- the diary of young college student named Roxy (Jennifer Cooper), who was at the epicentre of the chip’s creation years before. She was a young aspiring journalism major whose life took a dark turn when she began researching Mr. Zurn (Eric Roberts, The Dark Knight), the man behind this implanted chip.

“Rumors of Wars” is a a suspenseful, action packed film that centers around two converging stories- the “last days” of our present and the final days of our future. Written and Directed by Paul Tomborello, and starring Ben Davies, Jennifer Cooper, and Eric Roberts is now available on DVD.

Mom Maven’s Thoughts

I watched the movie with Ron and Jordan. We all agreed that the movie as a whole was very good. The acting was great, the sets were well done and the story was good. We all also agreed that the first 2/3 of the movie was a bit slow and the ending was abrupt. Just as the movie was starting to go somewhere, it ended yet it felt like it wasn’t over.

Personally, I have a problem with movies that have a lot of flash backs, I have trouble keeping the past and present straight. This movie is constantly shifting from the past to the present and that made this movie a bit difficult for me.

We really wish that the movie showed what event changed the character of Lee Richardson. Lee makes a huge change and it is just accepted, never seen or even explained and this was a miss for us. We also wish that the movie had continued a bit longer so that we could at least witness the change that was taking place in Shaw. We were so invested in him and we feel we were let down by the ending. This movie is rated PG-13 and is not appropriate for young children.

If you are looking for an apocalyptic film “Rumors of Wars” is currently available on Netflix streaming and on DVD.

Sounds like one my husband would enjoy. I’m like you, though, I don’t like a lot of back and forth with flashbacks. Guess I’m easily distracted LOL.
