Easy Recipes-Meatball Sub Casserole

My boys love meatball subs! When I saw this recipe on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it. When I read the recipe itself  I knew it needed a little tweaking to make it perfect. Here is my twist on a Meatball Sub Casserole.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of frozen Texas Toast
  • 8oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb frozen fully-cooked Italian meatballs, thawed
  • 28oz jar pasta sauce

Directions

1. Preheat the oven according to the directions on the Texas Toast Box.
2. Arrange the toast pieces in the bottom of a 13×9″ baking dish, cut smaller pieces to fill in gaps.

3. Bake toast according to package directions.
4. While toast is baking, mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning and pepper.

5. When the toast is ready, remove from oven.
6. Adjust oven temperature to 350°.
7. Spread cream cheese mixture over the toast.

8. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese.

9. In a large bowl, mix together the meatballs and the sauce.

10. Spoon the meatballs and sauce over the cheese.
11. Sprinkle the rest of the cheeses on top.

12. Bake uncovered 30-35 minutes, until cheese bubbles.
