I had the opportunity to drive the 2014 Kia Sorento SX FWD for a week and I AM IN LOVE! If I had the money in the bank I would have bought that baby and never looked back…but, alas, I don’t so they had to come and take it away. <sigh> The Kia Sorento is the perfect next car for me and my family. It seats 7, the 3rd row of seats folds flat to allow for lots of storage or hauling space, it has front and back temperature controls, dual zone automatic climate control and lots more!

We all loved the Infinity Surround Sound Audio System as we listened to FM radio, HD radio, Sirius Satellite radio, CDs and music from my iPhone via the Bluetooth Wireless Technology. I’ve gotten so used to the push button start that when I went back to driving my van I set my purse and keys on the passenger seat…and couldn’t find the start button! the navigation system was great and I loved how it shows the speed limit, that comes in handy while driving on unfamiliar roads. The back up camera is a wonderful safety tool and it may have saved my neighbor’s life. The dog across the street was running loose, with the 6th grade son trying to chase her down. I was preparing to back out of the driveway as the boy appeared on the back up camera causing the system to beep to alert me that he and the dog were running across my driveway! I wouldn’t have seen the dog and I may not have seen the boy without this safety tool. As much as I love the camera though, my favorite safety tool is the Blind Spot Detection. Watch my video and see how much I love this vehicle. (Special thanks to Jordan for shooting and editing my video)

The middle row seats 3 adults and is split 40-20-40 for folding the seats down. The windows in this row have retractable sun screens. The middle of the seat has a fold down arm rest which houses two pop out cup holders. There is also a regular 110 plug and a cigarette lighter plug for charging your gadgets on the go.

The Kia Sorento has enough storage space for a few grocery bags with the 3rd row of seats up. When you fold the 3rd row seats flat you get a lot of space which was handy when we picked Jordan up at the airport after being on the road with The 99 for 3 months.

I drove the Kia Sorento about 500 miles the week I had it. It included about 300 miles of highway driving to and from Disney World and the Tampa Airport as well as driving around town on a very busy week. The 19″ alloy wheels and quiet compartment make driving this vehicle so nice that on my first bit of interstate driving I found myself going a bit too fast so I used the cruise control to ensure I’d maintain a safe speed. Gas mileage on the Kia Sorento averages 18 city and 21 highway and my averages were a little bit better than that.

If you are looking for a family vehicle I highly recommend the 2014 Kia Sorento SX FWD, it is a beautiful vehicle inside and out.

Disclosure: I received the car to drive for 1 week. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% mine.

What fun to test drive a car. This car is good for a small family not my family of 7.
