The Festival of the Lion King is a revue type show based on the movie ” The Lion King” . The 30-minute show is held several times a day in the enclosed theater in the Camp Minnie Mickey area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The show incorporates animatronics, singers, dancers, gymnasts, puppets and a fire dancer to share the music of the movie with the audience. This is a must-see attraction so check your times guide when you enter the park and plan to see this show.
The show includes some audience participation so be ready to show off your best warthog, giraffe, lion and elephant impressions. The show starts with a parade of sorts that brings Simba, Timon and Puumba onto the stage to get the show rolling. My favorite part of the show are the comical Tumble Monkeys who steal the show from Timon.
Throughout the show you will hear all of the great songs from the movie and chances are…you’ll be singing along! The energy in the theater is electrifying and you can’t help but be caught up in the joy emanating from the cast.
