Ingredients

  • 5 lb whole chicken
  • Sea Salt
  • Paprika
  • Steak Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Make 4 small aluminum foil balls and place them in the bottom of your crockpot. These will lift the chicken up a bit and will keep it from getting mushy on the bottom from sitting in its own juices while it cooks.
  2. Remove anything inside the chicken.
  3. Rinse the chicken.
  4. Pat dry with paper towels.
  5. Season the chicken inside and out with the Sea Salt, Paprika and Steak Seasoning to taste
  6. Cook the chicken on high for 4-4.5 hours making sure a meat thermometer reaches 165 degrees-not touching a bone
  7. Let the chicken rest on the cutting board for 15-20 minutes before carving.

Recipe Notes

Next time I would add more of each spice and I would also put some spices under the skin to help infuse more flavor into the meat.
