It’s the new year and we are all trying to get healthier. I’ve been using Jimmy Pena’s PrayFit workout for the last two weeks as part of my #healthynewyear campaign. This is a great, well-rounded workout you can do at home. I did go out and buy some 2 pond dumb bells to use with this program and boy does adding a little bit of weight make a big difference in my workout.

I’m pretty much a beginner when it comes to this kind of workout. I like that Jimmy does a great job of explaining how to do each exercise and I can watch Haley for how to modify the exercises for my beginner status. The workout systematically focuses on each area of your body and does so in only 33 minutes. This workout hasn’t been easy for me, but I am getting better every day. I LOVE the spiritual concepts Jimmy weaves into the workout, reminding us that we are the stewards of our bodies and we must take good care of them. There are also mini-devotionals on the DVD call “PrayFit Minutes” which are nice tidbits to help you focus on giving your best effort. Jimmy’s tagline for PrayFit is, “In Jesus’ name we train” which encapsulates his mission for helping us strive for a stronger faith and healthier body.
I recommend this workout for anyone beginner through advanced who is looking for a well-rounded workout. There is floor work involved, and small dumb bells are recommended so be prepared for that. Jimmy Pena is a great motivator and I enjoy working out with this DVD.
