After years of waiting and speculating, today Walt Disney World Announced that it’s newest resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be located adjacent to Pop Century.
The resort will be themed around 4 very popular Disney and Disney-Pixar Films.
- Finding Nemo
- Cars
- The Lion King
- The Little Mermaid
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will cater to families with 1120 family suites and 864 regular rooms. The resort is expected to open at the end of 2012, I’ll keep you posted as new information is released.

So glad to see that they are going to finally do more with the ghost town across the way from Pop Century. When we were there in February we kept walking by and wondering what would happen. Love all of the ideas and hope that they keep Pop the same even with this addition to the resorts.
